Great news for us. Sweet little Anni was tested and she does not have cancer! We were worried, she had a terrible wound on her neck when she can in from Lancaster shelter. But it looks worse than it is and she had it removed on Friday along with a much needed dental. Then she was off to her new sanctuary home in Santa Maria with Vicki. As soon as she heals and rests up she will go in for a second mass removal and surgery to remove a bladder stone. Poor baby she was in so much pain when we met her but she is so happy now!

Wow, what a year!
A record 198 dogs rescued, 32 senior dogs in loving sanctuary homes, new teams of volunteers pulling dogs at even more shelters and all our bills paid off by end of the year. This has been a truly great year and none of it would have been possible without all of you!
Looking forward to this coming year, at SCCR we are looking for new ways to rescue more dogs than ever. Whether you are a once a year donor, Face Book fan, foster mom or monthly donor you are what makes the work we do possible. We thank you for being an important part of the Second Chance rescue team and helping us save lives, one Cocker Spaniel at a time.

Lost Home, Bags Packed, No Where to Go
We got in a new sweet senior today, Opie. He is looking for a new home because his dad is too elderly to take care of him. At 9 years old, he is a sweet older man who still enjoys his daily 2-mile walk and loves his people. He does have a few old man quirks…he gets grumpy 
if he is disturbed when he is sleeping and needs someone who is home a lot. Except for a twice-daily thyroid pill, he is very healthy. Opie is looking for a foster home while he looks for his permanent home. Anyone out there willing to take this boy in? His bag is all packed and he is ready to go.
