Saving lives one dog at a time.
We got a call from Megan, a woman who works with homeless people. She saw a tiny Cocker Spaniel living in a homeless shelter parking lot. She was bone thin, with two cherry eyes and her coat was so matted you couldn’t see much of her. Megan asked if SCCR would take her. We couldn’t say no to rescuing this sweet and scared soul. Megan was able to catch her and bring her down to be vetted and cared for in Romoland, CA. She is about four years old, red and white and has a very sweet disposition. She loves to kiss everyone she meets. She is a bit bossy with other dogs, but that is probably because she had to fight for every bite of her food for too long.
We named her Cherry as she is in need of cherry eye surgery for both eyes. We would deeply appreciate any help in making this surgery happen soon.
A big thank you to Megan for calling us. Cherry wouldn’t have lasted much longer on her own.
