Second Chance Spay Clinic

All of us here at Second Chance Cocker Rescue are so proud of the work we have done. From getting our dogs into great homes, seeing the sanctuary come to fruition and this year being able to get back into international rescue by partnering with World of Angles Foundation to save dogs from the meat markets in China.

Now we have decided to go one step further! We are going to open a discount spay/neuter clinic on the sanctuary property in Jamestown. We have discovered there is a huge vacuum in this area for low cost s/n services, not to mention the wait times just to get into a regular vet. The feral cat population in this area is out of control and every year it will just get worse as those little ones continue to reproduce. People often don’t get their pets altered due to cost and availability of vet services. While we will not be offering general veterinary services, just spay and neuter, we feel this will help the community and their pets.

We are working on converting the trailer into a clinic and have a vet and vet tech on board to perform the surgeries. So far we have received several legacy donations towards the start up costs and if you want to jump in with both feet and help more, then please consider a donation of any size. The feral cats will be done on a ‘catch and release’ system (i.e. trap them, alter them, and release them back). We will be doing feral cats for free, private parties will be a deeply discounted price from what you would receive at your regular vet.

We are hoping to have this up and running in the next couple of months, so watch for more updates!
