Arlo’s Sanctuary OPEN

Arlo’s Sanctuary in Jamestown is OPEN for Business!! It took two years to find the right property and location. Another two years to get through the county permits and licenses and now we are open for business thanks to our three big donors and all of you. There are not words to tell how much we appreciate your support for this amazing project.

We have come so far, installing solar power, 7 dog kennels to house 30 Cocker Spaniels, built a laundry room, a barn for storage, an office, fencing for all the dog runs, horse and burro pastures, hay barn, well shed and a commercial parking lot. We can’t wait for you to see it. We decided to offer private tours instead of having a big open house this year. We are going to start signing up Volunteers in the area to come feed dogs, feed the livestock, scoop poop, do maintenance, dog training, cuddle, pet and play with the dogs. Help out with events. We will schedule a volunteer orientation this month.

We have so many more great plans for the Sanctuary. We want to plant grass in the dog runs and center area. We have finished the inside of three kennels, starting work on the next two and need to schedule the last two. Each kennel has a tile floor, AC and a heater, wainscotting, paint and trim to make it look like a small living room. There is a seasonal pond that we need to work on so we can swim in it. We need to add a bathroom for guests. We want to design and build a memory garden for you to enjoy on your visit. There are still acres and acres we can cut dog walking areas and add picnic areas for you. If you would like to support our work and growth all donations made here will go directly to adding new projects to the Sanctuary and making it an even better place. And it is AMAZING!!

We also have a fundraising project to help us raise money needed to add to our wish list to make this the best place possible. Arlo’s Sanctuary Building Sponsership Fundraiser. We will name a dog kennel or one of the other buildings or areas after you or your dog for a $2,500-10,000 donation. Each of these signs will be hung on the building the donor chose. This sponsorship was purchased in memory of Ann Summers. This sign will remind us of Ann and her amazing work every day we see it.

We have a second fundraising project to help raise funds to keep expanding the Sanctuary. We will purchase a stone plaque. and showcase it in a hand built wooden bench. Only $1000 each and a great way to memorialize or honor your babies or loved ones. There is a bench on each set of kennels and we will put them in our future memory garden.

Then we have our wish list if you would like to send a house warming present the dogs would be soooo appreciative.
