Harley’s Journey to His Forever Home With SCCR

I met Harley 9 years ago when I was looking to rescue another Cocker.  He was friendly, and got along with my other Cocker Spaniel immediately.  As I left with Harley, I promised him a forever home.  He seemed to be doing well, and then within a short time significant behavior issues began to surface. I immediately sought help from a variety of groups, and while only a few would help, their techniques were not effective. After a time, I made the heart wrenching decision that I was not equipped to handle Harley’s issues related to abuse during his formative puppyhood.  I was fortunate in that during many calls seeking help, a rescue in another state suggested calling Elizabeth and Second Chance Cocker Rescue.  I called and Elizabeth immediately came to my rescue, and eventually provided Harley with his forever SCCR sanctuary home.  Harley died a little over a year ago having lived a full and happy life in his loving SCCR sanctuary home.  I have supported SCCR for all these years because of their life-saving work and their dedication and love of Cocker Spaniels.
