Saving lives one dog at a time.
Your purchase of a brick in honor or memorial of someone special, will help pay for the construction of a loving and peaceful Sanctuary home for Cocker Spaniels in need. In addition to helping our furry friends, your brick will have a special place in our Wall of Honor where your beloved pup, will live on forever and be a part of our legacy of rescuing with love.
If you would like to buy a brick for yourself or your loved ones, please see our website . Every brick purchased gets us one step closer to making our sanctuary dream a reality.
The Sanctuary will house senior Cockers and we will have a section for dogs that need training for aggression or cannot be adopted because they are too dangerous. We will have an adoptable dog living area for dogs, waiting for a foster or adopter to find them. Second Chance Cocker Rescue will continue to utilize foster homes as often as we can for our adoptable dogs, as they learn so much from living with our foster families, and because living with foster families makes them more adoptable faster than being in a facility. For our permanent residents, we will make a comfortable home living area with whatever it takes to give them a good quality of life. We have identified Tuolumne County as an excellent choice for our Sanctuary. It has easy access to volunteers, tourists, and veterinary specialists, and is only 2 hours from three major cities, San Jose, San Francisco, and Sacramento. The area is full of old historic gold mining towns like Jamestown, Historic Sonora, and Columbia. It offers hotels, restaurants, and amazing vacation opportunities. There are inexpensive prices, an Animal Services Department friendly to rescues, and lots of affordable rural land to pick from, all making the establishment of the Sanctuary much easier.
The SCCR Sanctuary will have paid staff living on site, and we are hoping to have lots of volunteers and visitors to come and help with the work load. We will have travel trailers on site for volunteers and supporters to rent for short or extended visits. The income this generates will help pay for the dogs’ maintenance. The buildings will be fashioned after an old historic gold mining town making it a fun place to visit and live in.
Please consider making a donation to make our Sanctuary a reality or to place your order for a Sanctuary brick.
